ABOUT JGL

SHIPPING

My title was Communication Specialist. My responsibility was to make sure we could communicate with the world so traders from the Wall Street area in NYC could trade. When a problem was said to be corrected it was tested and initials were given as proof that the problem had been corrected, like CB was Charlie Brown and JGL is JUST GOOD LOOKING, and that is how JUST GOOD LOOKING got started.

Because of a serious heart condition, I had to stop the stress and take it easy, and so I did. But that gets boring and I knew I had to do something creative, and then it happened, someone in my building in NYC threw out yards of the most beautiful Thai silk I have ever seen. Who says there is no God?

My Mom was a seamstress and a designer, she would keep me on her lap while she sewed so she knew where I was and she would tell me what to do when making something, and my Dad was a cutter in the garment district, so when my friend Ronny showed me how to make scarves it came to me right away. I made breath taking scarves out of this Tie Silk with hand knotted silk fringe AND it all took off from there. Except - I got spoiled using only the best I could find out of New York City's garment district, so now I can spoil you with all of it.

I finally gave up my apartment in NYC and moved to Asheville, NC into the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. My dream, I finally got a place in the Arts River District, among a whole village of all different types of artists. YAAAAAAA, But the day after I signed the lease they closed to the public. So, I thought by the time I get my space the way I want it they’ll be open again. Instead I lost a friend and a family member to the COVID-19 virus. So I took some of my equipment back to my apartment and started making masks, and we are proud to have made over 250 masks. Some have been donated to the clergy at Calvary Episcopal Church, and some have been donated to a program for the homeless and some have been donated to individuals.

It saddens me to say that I had to give up my space in the Arts River district, that I worked so very hard to get to.

And thanks to my good friend Mr. Z of Z WORLD WEBS, and in honor of his Dad my great friend, I now have a website.

Thank you
